I’m glad I’ve invested in my accessories.

I started my new job today, and already, the girls (and even some guys) have scoped out my wardrobe and probably analysed and costed them!

Lunch time, the girls oohed and aahed over my “beautiful”, “cool” and “unusual” shoes. (Puffy fish leather. Gwendolyn Carrie)

Over dinner, a French boy noticed that I had a mini version of a HK girl’s handbag. (key-holder/mini-purse. Mulberry, Bayswater design)

When I joked that I had bought a mini Bayswater because I couldn’t afford the full-sized one, the HK girl responded: “That’s not true. You can afford a Miu Miu bag!”

I was stunned and quite impressed with their attention to detail. Clearly they have their eye out for these kind of things.

I’m sure they must have noticed a tear in my jacket sleeve then, which I myself had overlooked before putting it on this morning.

I’m slightly worried about my work wardrobe now: an old synthetic suit from Malaysia (no-kay, but i love the cut), a wool trouser suit (ok, although hook needs replacing), several wool jackets (no-kay, since all are slightly torn), two black dresses (okay, but need to be paired with a jacket that is not torn), a skirt given to me by a friend.

Clearly my work wardrobe is not of the same standard as my accessories. Think I have some upgrading to do… *sigh*
