The Champion’s League final (Man U vs. Barca) is being held at Wembley tonight.

I’ve encountered groups of Man U and Barca fans, dressed in their respective colours, drinking, cheering and singing all over London since this morning: in pubs, on the sidewalk outside the pubs, on the streets of Covent Garden, in the tube, on stairwells of the tube. Songs and cheers which every fan seem to know: with disparate groups joining and echoing cheers, united in joyous, chaotic exuberance.

Me, I’m pulling on a red top and going to a pub to support Man U against the devious team which have cheated and dived their way through so many rounds and finals, kicking out my beloved Arsenal in process.

This is why I love London.
