Some light sightseeing in the morning – Mercato Centrale, Basilica Sta Maria Novella, Palazzo Strozzi, and Basilica San Croce – and a quick lunch at our local restaurant (we eventually ate all our main meals in Firenze at the same place), then most of the day was reserved for the Uffizi.

Uno at the Uffizi

My experience at the Uffizi was much more pleasant than at Schloss Schoenberg, largely because of Uno, which kept the boys occupied and generally out of trouble. But I suppose the Uffizi was also much busier than Schloss Schoenberg. And I’m not sure the Austrian would have been so accepting of two kids sitting alone without close parental supervision.
