I decided to make some New Year’s resolution for 2025, to help channel my energies and set some sort of direction for the next 12 months. The below list – organised by category – is somewhat long and probably over ambitious, but I’d rather be more ambitious than less. I have included the overall goal, and the specific practical and specific actions / activities that I can use to track ‘progress’ so to speak. So even if I don’t achieve the overall goal, as long as I complete the activity, I would consider it good enough.

  1. (Personal Growth) Complete a “KonMari”cycle of discarding and decluttering. At least one round of each category by year end.
  2. (Personal Growth) Be open to new experiences and people. Bias towards saying “yes”. Have at least 1 new experience per quarter.
  3. (Health & Wellbeing) Aim to get an average of 7 hours’ sleep a day on a weekly basis. Be in bed at 23:00.
  4. (Travel) Visit at least 5 new countries. Middle East? Peru / Brazil? Monaco / Luxembourg?
  5. (Travel) Dive. Do at least 1 dive trip.
  6. (Athletic) Achieve open singles time of 1:30 or less. Improve pro doubles time with tie aim of potentially qualifying for World Championships. Run at least 3x a week. Aim for 500 wall balls (or DB thrusters) per week. Aim for 150 weighted lunges per week (ideally 1 session if possible).
  7. (Athletic) Complete a shoulder stand lift, and a kick / straddle up into handstand against a wall. Work on handstands 2x a month (class or specific session).
  8. (Athletic) Work on L-sit progressions. Continue daily mini routine (push up, hollow hold variation, side plank, leg lifts). Attend Calisthenics classes where possible.
  9. (Career) Find a new job. Submit at least 1 (aim for 3) application a week.
  10. (Career) Pass the next level of CGMA. Complete all Level 2 modules by 31 March, register for August exam (TBD). Aim for 1-3 modules per week.
  11. (Career) Review / complete AIC materials. Spend at least 1h a week on it.
