Another productive day this weekend, with new milestones in 2025.
Achieved my 5K and 10K personal bests today, and achieved my 1K and 1 mile personal bests in my gym class run yesterday.

Did my first ever 10K Race ever – a postponed New Year’s Day 10K Race by my club – on clear, cold, and frosty morning. In my mind, achieving 10K at ~60 minutes would be great; nonetheless, I tried to follow the 50-minute pacer, to be ambitious, but I was struggling from the get go, and was left in the dust before the 1KM mark. I’m pretty happy with my time, since it was a personal best, but clearly, either my Garmin “race predictor” is way off (my 5K predicted time is 22:15, and 10K predicted time is 47:37), or I’m massively underperforming my potential (~5 minutes on 5K, and ~10 minutes on 10K). I wasn’t going full speed, mouth breathing all the way and gasping for air… but pacing is important for 10K, and I was making a steady, strong effort (yellow zone for MyZone), and I was definitely mouth breathing the last 2-3K, and tried my best “sprint finish” – my last 300M was ~5:00 min / km pace.


Threw out another load of “stuff”. My storage space went from overflowing to almost spacious. I haven’t even really completed the “clothes” category, nor started on the “papers” category yet.

Had brunch with my fellow 10K runners + dinner with Steph. So all in all, a lovely weekend.
I did okay in resolutions tracking this week, but didn’t hit all my targets. But I think a 50% hit rate is acceptable for an ambitious weekly programme.
