Arrived in Edinburgh pretty late on Sunday, and rather absurdly, had takoyaki and ramen for dinner.

Monday was horrific. I was hotel-room bound most of the day, with largely back to back meetings and last minute crunch work for eleventh hour QBR (Quarterly Business Review) prep. My early morning breakfast sustained me until ~16:30, when I scarfed down 3 hard boiled eggs I nicked from breakfast. I decided to take a walk in town while it was still light out, before returning to the hotel do some market entry scenario modelling, and have an evening call with a US colleague, and then dinner after.

This was the first time I have been back to Edinburgh since O was conceived here ~12 years ago, and my life changed forever. I still love the city. It’s crazy and weird how I just fall in love with some places. While I’ve developed a better appreciation for Glasgow now, compared to all those years ago… Edinburgh still makes me catch my breath with its charm and beauty. There’s something about it which is so romantic, and captivates me…it’s like the city holds my heart in her hands, and squeezes.

I woke up for an early morning shake out run today, and attempted to jog up Arthur’s Seat. Years ago, I think we went close to sunset, and I was stressed about getting down in the dark. This time, I went up in the early morning sunshine – I lucked out with the weather – and got back to the hotel just after the official work day started.

Hung around in the hotel working until it was time to meet my ex-boss who came over from the US and is in Edinburgh for the week. We had a nice catch up over afternoon tea before I caught the train from Waverley station back to London.
