It’s official – there’s nothing to do in Bahrain, or at least Manama. But at least I’ve added a new country. Bahrain should be #71 – will double check and update in due course.
I must’ve walked across the entire core of the city on foot in the baking sun today. From Al-Fateh Grand Mosque, to Bab Al Bahrain Souq, and surrounding streets, to Bahrain Financial Harbour, to Bahrain World Trade Centre / Moda Mall, passed by Beit Al Qu’ran, enroute to National Bahrain Museum, then back towards The Avenues for dinner.
Key takeaways are:
1) There were not many women on the streets, apart from tourists in the souq. I saw maybe 5 women total in the streets, excluding tourists, and malls.
2) I really don’t like Gulf cities (Dubai & Manama so far)
3) Manama, like Dubai, is really not great for pedestrians. And it’s a bit of a challenge to cross Bahraini highways

Song of the day 遇见。
At least I managed to get into my small but functional airport hotel room as planned today. I was worried about another logistical issue.
