I definitely gained an industrial quantity of weight from yesterday’s pig out when I weighed myself this morning. Urgghh.

I emailed my dental practice about my bone graft – sent them a picture – and asked them if it was normal that the sharp edge was digging into my mouth. They were really nice and answered my questions quickly, and even got me in today for a quick check up by a dentist. Turns out the white thing was my bone growing through my gum. Rather, it was the dressing that my dentist put on the bone graft site, to protect it from food particles falling in. It has hardened, and it’s good that it stays on. But if it falls out, it’s not a big deal either. I guess it’s better to keep it on rather than not… although it is rubbing my inner cheek and lips raw, and I need to apply Bonjela.

Visited my physio, and did some assisted pull-ups and lat pull downs at my local park. Because I’m feeling very weak. But apparently I shouldn’t do heavy weight-bearing exercises and tear my muscles which will divert my body’s resources to repairing my muscle, while my surgical site is still unhealed. Because all the energy should go into repairing my surgical wound. I guess asking a lot of my body right now – to build new bone, to heal my surgical wound, to build new skin, and to repair muscle tears.

I’m back to eating more junky food after a long period of healthy food – had coffee for the first time in a while, more chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate Viennese biscuits for tea, pork pies and sausage rolls for snacks, and instant noodles for dinner… Maybe that’s not going to help, and I should go back to my super healthy, high quality, protein and nutrient-rich diet to fuel my body, given the demands I’m placing on it.
